Grace Cavalieri | Showboat

Maryland’s tenth Poet Laureate, Grace Cavalieri was married to Kenneth Flynn, for 60 years, until his death in 2013. He was a Naval Aviator serving on nine carriers until his retirement in 1975. Beginning with shore duty in 1964, Kenneth Flynn became a renowned metal sculptor, inventing the lost wood process with bronze and steel. Showboat charts Grace’s journey as a Navy wife, and mentions the art world she moved into: theater, poetry, and radio.
